Indeed, DSP-Quattro creates a file that is not compliant with the DDP spec and it was along the lines of what I thought - DSP Quattro was creating a number with an hour field and DDP doesn't support that, DDP only supports a two digit minutes field which makes sense due to the fact that a cd can't hold an amount of information that would call for more than that. I found a resolution to the situation so I'll go ahead and post it in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation.Ī gentleman at Sonoris got back to me very quickly and was kind enough to examine the SUBCODES.DAT file from the file set in question. Shame I really dislike the UI and editing.I haven't seen any problems regarding CD-TEXT but I will certainly keep my eyes open considering your post and today's experience with DSP-Quattro. I've been using Wave Editor for DDPs, which it creates flawlessly. I like the editing and processing in Quattro, but it is not suitable for creating DDPs for replication. When I burn a cd from DSP-Quattro it functions just fine but the files are burned from a disc image that is created for that purpose so I'm not confident that this is an indication that the DDP is okay.ĭoes anyone have any help to offer? Thanks in advance!ĭSP-Quattro also screws up CD-TEXT information in DDPs. I know that the Sonoris player will recognize start times past the hour mark when the file sets are created in other software other than DSP-Quattro so I'm tending to believe that the problem is with the way DSP-Quattro is writing the files and this seems to be confirmed by the fact that the Sonoris player won't indicate a time past the beginning of the track that crosses the hour mark when playing back this file set. I have every feeling that this is where the glitch is but I have no idea how to correct it. After much troubleshooting I've realized that the timeline in DSP-Quattro indicates, for example, a time of one hour and one minute and one second as such: 01:01:01 while the indicator in the Sonoris player has no hour field so it would indicate the same time as 61:01. It will play back but only from a point that is equal to the time from the one hour mark to it's start time and the player "thinks" that this is happening one minute into the cd rather than an hour and one minute - in other words, it's like it has "reset" the time indicator ignoring the hour mark. The final track on the album follows this track and starts at around 61 minutes. The Sonoris player sees the start time correctly but shows a negative duration time of about 49 minutes so it won't play back the track at all and in fact usually crashes. I'm using the Sonoris DDP player to check the file sets before sending them off and I'm running into a playback error with the track that crosses the hour mark which actually starts at about 52 minutes and runs to about 61. This particular project is over an hour long and the hour mark seems to be where the problem is coming from. I've exported DDP file sets to send to the replicators from DSP-Quattro several times with no problems but today I've run into a frustrating situation and I'm hoping someone here has some wisdom or experience they can share.
